About Us

Back Office Synergies (BOSYN) was established in 2017 as a LegalTech provider of data-focused business operations and management solutions for the legal industry. Its initial focus is to help Enterprise Law CFOs increase profits without influencing client demand by improving the firm’s timekeeper rate maintenance practices (e.g. processes, data governance, etc.), leveraging a new SaaS solution, which was proven as a prototype to lift partner profits by as much as 5% of annual revenue.

BOSYN’s roots stem from nearly a decade of providing consulting services to the back offices of law firms as The Pennsy Group. Viewing this experience through a forward-looking lens, it became increasingly clear that the company could deliver exponentially greater value to the legal industry by developing and leveraging purpose-built technical tools in conjunction with consultative services. From this vision, BOSYN was born.

Chip Cherry | CEO, CTO & Co-Founder

Chip’s passion and vision are to provide the legal industry with robust and elegant data structures for operational data that facilitate for each BOSYN customer the fullest possible realization of the value inherent in their digital assets. Chip is excited to create purpose-built solutions to provide the capabilities and opportunities that law firm executives and partners have been pondering and asking for as the shift from a seller’s to a buyer’s market for legal services has exposed numerous issues within the industry’s historical systems infrastructure. With a large toolkit of leadership techniques and capabilities based on decades of international, enterprise client project work, Chip’s vision for and direction of BOSYN’s technical, product, and executive teams sets an ideal foundation for a company culture focused on delivering customer value.

Chip has served the legal industry since 2009 as a Principal of The Pennsy Group LTD, where engagements were focused on helping the back office of law firms better understand and manage the firm’s client relationships, starting with their contractual agreements. Before Pennsy, Chip was one of the first employees of Textura Corporation (acquired by Oracle in 2016) where his responsibilities included solution architecture and design, customer acquisition and implementation, and hiring and training of the subsequent operations leadership team. Prior to Textura, Chip was a nationally-recognized data architect within PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting’s System Integration practice. Chip has an MBA from The University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Terry-Graber

Terry Graber | COO & Co-Founder

Terry’s perspective on business is informed by his passion for operational excellence and efficiency, his appreciation of context, and his desire to execute and deliver.  From this perspective, he has consistently demonstrated an ability to “cut to the chase” – providing direction and leadership that enable the realization of business improvements.  Within BOSYN, Terry has ultimate responsibility for all customer relationships, all customer-related activities, and all customer-focused personnel – including the Customer Success and Sales teams.  Terry’s strong interpersonal skills and his focus on quantitative management techniques insure that BOSYN will be a strong and active partner with our customers as they discover and realize the business value available via BOSYN’s unique solutions.

As a Principal of The Pennsy Group LTD, Terry has helped law firm Risk and Finance executives accomplish their operational objectives by assessing existing practices, defining new solutions & process improvements, and planning & executing practical implementation approaches.  Prior to Pennsy, Terry reduced the administrative overhead CFOs experienced on construction projects by implementing Textura Corporation’s (now Oracle) SaaS solution, both in the United States and in the United Arab Emirates.  Terry has a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University.

Brent-Gatto

Brent Gatto | VP, Customer Success

Brent’s vision of success for BOSYN is seen only through the lens of the customer.  For this reason, he is responsible for leading the Customer Success team through structured, yet tailored, implementation activities that maximize the value of BOSYN’s applications for each customer.  Brent is also responsible for supporting customers post-implementation.  Brent’s proven ability and enthusiasm for providing consultative solutions to his enterprise clients is the reason he is trusted to lead our Customer Success team.

Brent has spent his career in world-class customer service organizations, including most recently seven years at American Express in Global Business Consulting delivering consulting engagements for enterprise clients.  Brent began his career at one of Chicago’s most successful SaaS start-ups, Textura, developing a customer first philosophy while there.  Brent graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Industrial Management.  Brent joined BOSYN to utilize his entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for problem solving.
